Create a newsletter in 10 minutes!

Newsletters give you the opportunity to share information about your facility, photos taken during activities, weekly news and certain events, etc.
All you have to do is add your images and text, the layout will be completed automatically once you approve your newsletter.

How to make an internal newsletter with Famileo Pro

Create the loveliest newsletters in 4 steps

 LET'S GO
Go to the 'Newsletters' section

Here you will find all your newsletters in progress or completed. 

Create a new newsletter
In the 'Activities' section click on 'Newsletters'. Click on 'Add a newsletter' and follow the 4 steps. 

Finish or share a newsletter 
Among your list of newsletters, those in progress are marked 'Incomplete'. Click on the blue pencil icon to continue or edit one. 

Once your newsletter is finished, you can print it and share it with families on the community wall by clicking on the 'Attach in a message to all' button. 

    You can edit your newsletter at any time!

Customise the cover page

STEP 1
Customise the cover page

1. Document name: give your document an internal title (optional).

2. Cover image: customise the cover with a lovely picture (optional).

3. Title of the cover page: add a title to your newsletter such as "March Newsletter".

4. Edition date: choose a publishing date that will be shown on the central banner on the cover and at the bottom of the other pages.

5. Greetings: add a brief introductory text (optional, 6 lines maximum).

6. Profile picture: accompany your greetings with a nice profile picture in a thumbnail.

7. Colour - choose a preset colour or click on  Group 1354 to choose the colour of your institution.

8. Logo - by default, the Famileo logo is at the bottom of the page. You can add your own logo or decide not to show it.

  Click on the 'Preview' button to see your finalised cover page then click on 'Next step' to move on to the second step.

STEP 2
Add your messages

This newsletter tool allows you to mix and match different content as you please: messages already published on Famileo, and/or new specific content. It's up to you!

'Select a message'
You can add all the messages already published on Famileo, be they 'Messages to all', 'Group messages' or 'Personal messages'.  This way, you will save time creating your newsletter. In order to do this, click on the  'Select a message' button, check the desired message(s), then click on 'Validate'.

 Tip: save even more time by filtering your messages by title, by resident or even by date! 

'Create a new message'
You can also create a new message by clicking on the 'Create a new message' button. It can be text only, a text with a photo png or jpeg file or even a PDF (only the first page of your file will be attached to your newsletter). Then add a title and your text, and click on 'Add'.

Edits

For optimum results, here are some tips for your newsletter's layout:
 

Preview your newsletter at any time

Click on 'Preview' at the bottom right to check the appearance of your messages and improve the layout if necessary.

Edit a message

Click on the blue pencil icon to edit your message. You can resize the image, replace the photo with another one, add or edit your title or even edit the message and its layout.

New! You can change the order of your posts by clicking on the arrows located to the right of your  messages or simply by editing the number.


   To improve your newsletter's layout, we advise giving your messages a title.

STEP 3
Add events

You can use certain sections to post your events (optional): 

  • Section 'Happy Birthday to...' section: select the birthdays that you wish to add to your newsletter. You can also add a birthday for someone who is not on your list of residents by clicking on 'Add a birthday' then entering the name, surname and date of birth. 

  • Section 'Welcome to...': welcome newcomers to your establishment. Select or add people by clicking on 'Add someone'. 

  • Section 'Thinking of...': you can use this section to communicate those who have recently departed .

  • Section 'Other event...': create your own personalised section. Click on 'Create a special event', choose a picture that matches your theme and enter a title and your message.
   If your residents' list is up to date, you will find your residents' information easily. Click here to find out how to update it.

STEP 4
Fill in the upcoming events

  • Section 'Upcoming...': Now all that's left is to announce upcoming events such as your next outings or planned activities. This step is optional. If you don't have anything to add, you can directly choose the format for your newsletter.

  • Newsletter generation format:
    A3 or A4? You can choose your newsletter's format. The A3 format will automatically create a booklet version, just like your residents' gazettes. You also have the option to print your newsletter in A4 format.
Once the 4 steps are completed click on 'Confirm and generate', to save your newsletter! You can always come back to it later if you wish to make any changes. Download the pdf to send or print it!

Print your newsletter!

Preview your newsletter by clicking on the 'Preview' button, a PDF will appear. You can print and save it on your computer. You can also add it straight to your facility wall by clicking on the 'Join' button. 

Did you spot a mistake? No need to panic, you can edit your newsletter by clicking on the 'Update Newsletter' button.
